Pre-Drill Planning: What We’ll Help You With

Project Scope & Objectives

  • Define overall project goal and installation purpose.
  • Identify all key stakeholders and contacts (Owner, Engineer, General Contractor).
  • Establish a preliminary bore path with proposed entry and exit locations.
  • Determine project timeline, key milestone dates, and required completion date.

Subsurface & Geotechnical Data

  • Commission a Geotechnical Report relative to the bore path.
  • Obtain all existing utility maps and as-builts for the project area.
  • Identify any known underground obstructions.
  • Note groundwater levels and any known soil or water contamination.

Site Logistics & Access

  • Verify adequate site access for drill rig, support trucks, and personnel.
  • Designate laydown area for pipe fusing and equipment staging.
  • Identify water source for drilling fluid and plan containment.
  • Develop traffic control and public safety plan.

Permitting & Environmental

  • Identify necessary permits (municipal, state DOT, railroad, environmental).
  • Confirm status of all permit applications.
  • Delineate environmentally sensitive areas.
  • Create plan for containment and disposal of drilling fluids.

Pipe & Utility Specifications

  • Confirm final product pipe material (HDPE, PVC, Steel).
  • Verify pipe diameter, wall thickness, and bend radius.
  • Plan for final utility tie-in requirements and connection points.
